For the past few days i've been browsing on information about babay's formula milk. Looking the best for my dear son, i'm getting confused in choosing the right formula.
Danish is taking soy based milk. It is either Enfalac A+ Prosobee or if it is out of stock, the second choice is Isomil. He is also supplemented with Organic Rice Milk, as suggested by Ai Ghee. Danish is being fed with soy based milk due to some reasons. Since we had him (he was about 4 month coming to 5 month old) he had regurgitation problem. This reflux problem he was having (and still having) makes him throwing up milk and fluid he took. It is always depressing seeing him vomit all the nutrients he is supposed to enjoy. When we took him to peadiatrician,his pead informed us that it could be due to reflux, a condition which is quite normal for babies and will usually will go away when babies are getting bigger and eat solid foods. Another possibility is that he could be lactose intolerant. So the pead advised us to change his milk (milk changing is quite normal for babies), change his bottles to anti colic bottles, change teats with smaller holes etc. That was the first reason why he is a soy milk baby.
Another reason is that.. Being a leukemia patient, i was being fed with the idea that: milk and lactose are harmful. They trigger cancel cells, as much as beefs and meat do. So soy milk is always the preference over cows' milk. Blanked by this vege idea, my son is a soy milk baby!
Recently, i got to know about this 'Susu Ilham'. I am quite interested with this susu ilham. I contacted the company and asked if they have it in soy form. As expected, the answer was negative. The reasons why i am interested with this susu ilham are (1) its ingredients: almond, dates, raisins - all are good foods and sunnah of Prophet Muhammad S.A.W ('makanan sunah') (2)quranic therapy- 30 juzu of alquran is being incorporated in its process (3)the cleanliness of its process - all opearators in the factory must have wudhu'. Those facts caught my interest in this Susu Ilham. I strongly believe, 'makanan dan minumam anak adalah baik jika dibaca dengan bacaan alquran.' I always insya allah, if Allah permits prepare waters for Danish 'treated' with Quranic verses, especially Surah Yasin, Surah Insyirah and Surah Toha together with Duas for children. If possible, i dont want to physically feed my son per se. I want to feed him physically and spiritually. Biarlah anak kenyang perut, hati dan jiwanya sekali. Mudah mudahan dengan berkat Al Quran, anak boleh menjadi anak yang soleh. Amin...
So.. Soy milk OR cows milk OR Goats milk??
SOY MILK
Many articles do not encourage soy based milk for babies. It lacks of calcium and other minerals needed by infants and babies. Soy also contains isoflavones, which is related to estrogen and remedy for menepaused women. One nasty articles said, soy milk makes baby boys turn gay. Turn what???? GAY???? NOOO WAYYYYY!!!! Ok time to move on. Enough of soy milk. Then.. Cows' milk??
COWS' MILK
Personally, i do not favour cows' milk. So many remarks passed about cows' milk. Minum susu lembu nanti bodoh macam lembu. Cows' milk only for calves. Even cows (matured calves) do not drink cow's milk it is only for calves. So many bad things about cows milk i've read when i was doing my treatment and chemotherapy. However, i learnt that Enfalac, Enfapro, Enfakid & Enfagrow are extremely good. Reviews from mothers who gave their kids with this range of product are so encouraging. But they are cows milk . Waitt... Isn't milk also makanan sunah Nabi Muhammad?? Well.. What milk did Nabi Muhammad drink? Was it cows' milk or goats' milk or camels' milk? *wonder*
GOATS MILK
It is Prophet's Muhammad's favourite. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to drink milk with dates for sahur during the holy month of Ramadhan. The only thing is that.. Goats milk is not the favourite among us. Our culture isolates goats milk from our diet. It is always cows milk on the stores' shelves. Is it heaty? The best goats milk i've known so far is Karihome.
After careful consideration, i have made up my mind. I will gradually change his isomil with susu ilham. Help me God in making decision for my son's future. Engkaulah yang Maha Mengetahui apa yang aku tidak ketahui. Engkau yang Maha Mengetahui baik buruk sesuatu perkara. Ya Allah.. Berilah pilihan yang baik untuk kesihatan anakku, masa depannya, agamanya, dunia akhiratnya... Semoga Engkau memberkati usahaku ini Ya Allah
